Another projected top pick in the NFL Draft will not be making it to the combine or having a pro day, as Oklahoma wide receiver Marquise Brown will still be recovering from a surgery at the time of both events.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Brown – who many believe will be a top-15 pick in April – underwent surgery for a LisFranc injury last month that will stop him from participating in both the combine and his pro day.

Thankfully for Brown, this shouldn't hamper his NFL future, as many still believe that Brown will undoubtedly be a high first-round pick when the draft comes around.

Brown initially received the injury on December 1 in the Big 12 Championship game, and actually played through it in Oklahoma’s Orange Bowl loss to Alabama. From there, he had foot surgery on January 8, and will now be sidelined for all of the NFL Draft workout showcases.

During his 2018 season for Oklahoma, Brown was incredibly impressive, hauling in 75 receptions for 1,318 yards and 10 touchdowns, which helped lead the Oklahoma Sooners to a 12-2 record and a College Football Playoff berth.

Schefter also noted that Brown is expected to be ready for the NFL’s training camp in the summer, however.

According to Schefter, those with knowledge of the draft expected Brown to run in the high 4.2s or low 4.3s in the 40-yard dash, which would put him right in the range of one of the top receiving prospects.

Regardless of a combine or pro day performance, it seems that Brown will still be one of the first receivers taken in April, so it's better to get healthy now than risk further injury.
