Since the college football season ended, most believed that Chase Young would be selected by the Washington Redskins, but according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, there is actually a chance they could select Tua Tagovailoa with the second overall pick.

The Redskins have said that all options are still on the table for that selection, and taking a quarterback two years in a row in the first round is unusually, but this coaching staff has no connection to Dwayne Haskins.

The biggest concern with Tagovailoa is with his injuries an even though doctors have cleared him, most teams would have probably liked to get another look at him.

Ron Rivera did point out that the Redskins have redone the medical staff bringing in Ryan Vermillion who has been an NFL head athletic trainer for almost 20 years.

“He was very good for us, I believe, when we were in Carolina,” Rivera said via Terez Paylor of Yahoo Sports.. “He was tough on players, and the reason I know this is because some of the guys complained about how hard he was in terms of pushing them to understand how important it was to do the personal maintenance and try to get guys to realize you’ve got to learn to push yourself.”

Rapoport did say that no one outside of the third pick has reached out to Young, and if the Redskins passed on him, it's hard to imagine the Detroit Lions pass on him, too.

The Lions aren't expected to be looking for quarterback, so getting Young on their team with the third pick would be best-case scenario.
