This draft has a polarizing class of quarterbacks. The general consensus is that this year's crop is much weaker than last year's top tier. There's been a lot of debate about how well Kyler Murray's game will transition to the pros, as well as the upside of Dwayne Haskins.

One person in league circles who isn't buying the Haskins hype? Former Kansas City Chiefs head coach and Arizona Cardinals, Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Browns offensive coordinator Todd Haley. In a recent interview with Sports Illustrated, Haley gave his take on Haskins, and it wasn't very good.

Haley offered Jacoby Brissett as his pro comp, and didn't sound enthused about his chances of starting as a rookie. “I would bet against him starting early. He had arguably best offensive line in college football, and a good supporting cast with a proven system. I believe the jump to the NFL will be a big one for him and he will be game manager-type early. I just didn’t see enough NFL throws on tape. And so much success was created by the system,” Haley said.

Haley argued that Haskins' success in college was due mostly to his supporting cast and scheme. He also said “he lacks downfield accuracy on tape.” Haley's final assessment of whether Haskins can become a franchise quarterback? “I just didn’t see enough big-time plays to get real excited about him.”

Haley wasn't retained by Pittsburgh last offseason after a falling out with Ben Roethlisberger. He was heavily sought after on the open market, and landed in Cleveland. He battled with Hue Jackson seemingly from the start, and ended up getting fired at the same time as Jackson. We haven't heard much from him since, and it's unclear if he'll be coaching anywhere in 2019. Whatever team ends up hiring Haley, it sounds safe to assume they won't be taking Haskins.
