Do the Arizona Cardinals go with an offensive tackle or wide receiver tonight in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft? According to ESPN's Chris Mortensen, last year's first overall pick, Offensive Rookie of the Year quarterback Kyler Murray, has petitioned his organization to chase after Oklahoma Sooners standout receiver CeeDee Lamb in an effort to pair the college star with ex–Houston Texans wideout DeAndre Hopkins.

Hopkins, 27, was acquired by the Cardinals in a shocking move by Texans head coach and general manager Bill O'Brien, who sent the star receiver to Arizona for David Johnson and two draft picks, none of which were first-round picks in the upcoming draft. Murray, 22, a former Heisman Trophy winner at Oklahoma, wants to team up again with Lamb at the professional level with the Cardinals. No matter how you look at it, this would be a bombshell of an NFL Draft move by the Arizona Cardinals.

In his acclaimed debut season with the Cardinals, following his selection in last year's NFL Draft, Murray totaled 3,722 passing yards with a 64.4 completion percentage, tossing 20 touchdowns and 12 interceptions in 16 games, along with rushing for 544 yards and four touchdowns. Murray and Lamb spent two seasons together in Norman, Oklahoma, on the Sooners' football program in 2017-18, winning the Big 12 conference in both years and losing the Rose Bowl and later Orange Bowl.

Lamb makes up a perceived elite wide-receiver class in this NFL Draft, along with Alabama's Jerry Jeudy and Henry Ruggs III, LSU's Justin Jefferson, Baylor's Denzel Mims, and Clemson's Tee Higgins, among others. It's unclear who exactly will be the first wideout off the board on Thursday night, but there is no shortage of first-round-selecting franchises needing talented receivers, including the Oakland Raiders, New York Jets, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
