The New York Giants are in need of help along their offensive line, and it appears that they are zeroing in on a certain prospect heading into the NFL Draft later this month.

According to Pat Leonard of The New York Daily News, the Giants really like University of Georgia offensive tackle Andrew Thomas.

Leonard adds that New York is also examining Iowa's Tristan Wirfs, Louisville's Mekhi Bacton and Alabama's Jedrick Willis Jr. but that the club seems to prefer Thomas.

The Giants own the fourth overall selection in the first round, and given the fact that providing young quarterback Daniel Jones with some protection up front seems to be a priority, it would not be surprising if Big Blue chose an offensive lineman at that spot.

While Wirfs and Becton had impressive showings at the NFL Scouting Combine back in February, Thomas' stock is rising, and many feel he is actually the best tackle in this class:

“Andrew Thomas is the best all-around tackle,” said Pro Football Focus senior analyst Steve Palazzolo. “The best pass protector. One of the best run blockers. The cleanest pick for the Giants at four if they’re gonna go tackle. He’s played on the left side, on the right side. He’ll fit in right away at right tackle for the Giants.”

Meanwhile, Pro Football Network draft analyst Tony Pauline said that he thinks Thomas is “the most pure left tackle” in the draft and even liked him to former Baltimore Ravens tackle Jonathan Ogden, who was one of the league's best offensive linemen during his playing days.

The Giants went 4-12 in 2019.
