In the last several days, free agent veteran cornerback Vontae Davis has made his visiting tour around the league with a handful of teams. He has drawn significant interest from the likes of the Buffalo Bills, Cleveland Browns, Oakland Raiders, and San Francisco 49ers, who all possess the need to address their secondary.

Davis is one of the early available proven commodities on the open market that could make a positive impact defensively for each of these franchise. The 29-year-old took to social media on Wednesday night to voice his appreciation for the free agency experience that he will now head home to assess his options before making his final decision.

The possible addition of Davis to any of these teams would provide some much-needed stability in the secondary. He has spent the last six seasons with the Indianapolis Colts where he established himself as one of the better cornerbacks in the league while earning a pair of Pro Bowl selections. In fact, he was a key part of their secondary during his tenure with the team.

Given the struggles that Davis has had to endure with the Colts over the last couple of years, it could lead to him choosing to join a team that will be in the mix for the playoffs next season and beyond. The 49ers and Raiders likely present the best opportunities to win at this point with each franchise having a promising quarterback in place that could help lay the foundation for long-term success.

Meanwhile, the Browns give him a chance to step in a major contributor alongside a young and promising group of talent. The team is also strapped with more than $110 million in salary cap space to make additional moves in free agency and the trade market. Lastly, the Bills have put together a strong defensive unit and are coming off their first playoff appearance since 1999.

Davis has much to contemplate over the next several days before making a decision that will set the next chapter of his NFL career.
