NFL free agent running back LeSean McCoy could be in a new team very soon, as two franchises have stirred up interest in the veteran rusher.

Per NFL.com's Mike Garafolo:

“Right now, I’m just talking to a couple of teams — some of my favorite teams — that I’d think would be a great fit for me. I won’t tell you exactly,” McCoy said of the NFL interest he has garnered. “But I think the biggest thing is to find the right fit. Find the right fit for me. I think at this point in my career, not just playing football, I want to play for the right team. I want to be able to contribute. I want to be able to win another championship. You can’t go from playing with the Chiefs with all that talent and winning a championship to now just trying to play. I’m the type of guy, I want to come in a room, challenge the running backs get them better. Be a veteran leader. All the type of things I want to bring to a team. So, just got to find the right fit for me.”

LeSean McCoy spent the 2019 NFL season with the Kansas City Chiefs, reuniting with former Philadelphia Eagles head coach Andy Reid. While McCoy won a Super Bowl with the AFC West club this past February, the 32-year-old was inactive on the title game roster.

A former six-time Pro Bowler, McCoy rushed for 465 years on 101 carries in 2019, scoring four rushing touchdowns in 13 regular season appearances. “Shady” also chipped in 181 receiving yards on 28 catches, scoring one touchdown in the air.

McCoy was originally a second-round pick by the Eagles out of Pittsburgh in the 2009 NFL Draft, spending six years in Philly before moving onto the Buffalo Bills. He once led the league in both carries and rushing yards with the Eagles back in 2013.
