The Minnesota Vikings' superstar running back Dalvin Cook has been accused of domestic violence from his ex-girlfriend. It's been an ongoing news story since Tuesday, taking over the NFL news cycle. However, after a report surfaced of the accuser's lawyer complaining about how ESPN covered the story, Adam Schefter surprisingly makes an apology live on SportsCenter.

According to Michael David, Schefter acknowledges on SportsCenter that he didn't “do his job properly when reporting only Dalvin Cook's side of the story in the domestic violence accusation.”

Since Adam Schefter's report, the lawyer for Cook's girlfriend ripped ESPN, claiming it was unjust for the organization to report on only Dalvin Cook's side of the story. Adam Schefter responded live on SportsCenter, offering an apology for his poor journalism on the matter.

Schefter has been one of the more reliable reporters for the NFL for years. It's strange to see him utilize poor journalism skills in a case as serious as this one. However, Schefter put to question early in the year after reporting news regarding the Seattle Seahawks and Russell Wilson right before the 2021 NFL Draft.

The Minnesota Vikings have been quiet so far, as not all of the information is available. This is an ongoing situation, as the domestic abuse claims are currently a civil issue. Hopefully, ESPN and Adam Schefter can be more professional in the future, as the lawyer was correct in calling them out.

For now, the Vikings will have Dalvin Cook in the lineup as there is nothing the NFL can do at the moment. As for Schefter, he'll aim to bounce back with more accurate reporting.
