Detroit Lions running back Adrian Peterson says he's going to help Cleveland Browns wideout Odell Beckham Jr., Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow and New York Giants tailback Saquon Barkley with their ACL rehabs.

During the 2011 season with the Minnesota Vikings, Peterson tore his left ACL and MCL. Many NFL pundits thought his career was going to be over, but Peterson defied the odds by playing in all 16 games in 2012, rushing for 2,097 yards and winning the MVP award.

Now at the tail end of his Hall of Fame career, Peterson wants to aid Beckham Jr., Burrow and Barkley–three of the brightest young stars in the NFL who tore their ACL.

“To be that poster child for [NFL ACL recovery] is what I envisioned,” Adrian Peterson told TMZ. “Because now people, they look at it, and they say, ‘You know what? I can do that. I'll be able to come back.'

“I've always had the mindset of not allowing the world to box you in — not allowing what other ones might see as hard or impossible. Don't let that box you in where you can't open your mind to realize that we are incredible human beings that God has possessed with the ability to do some amazing things if we are able to allow our minds to go outside the box and do the impossible.”

The NFL is seeing more and more ACL injuries in recent years. Peterson, a seven-time Pro Bowler and one of the best running backs of his generation, wants to give some guidance to Odell Beckham Jr., Joe Burrow and Saquon Barkley. Each NFL star is going to face a tough road back, so it's great to see AP lending a helping hand.

OBJ and Barkley have already had their surgeries, while Burrow is set to go under the knife later this week.
