Former NFL quarterback Brock Osweiler officially announced his retirement from professional football. He had played seven seasons in the league with most of his time being spent with the Denver Broncos.

It's a rare opportunity to play professional football and it is rather unique for a Montana native to be able to win a Super Bowl with the Broncos. It was an experience that Osweiler spoke to Mike Klis of 9News about in a phone interview.

“I’m extremely grateful for the time I did receive playing in the National Football League,’’ Osweiler said. “The experiences I did have, people I did meet, relationships I did make — I’m not going to dwell on the things that didn’t happen in my career.

“Being a kid from Kalispell, Montana, playing for the Denver Broncos, winning a Super Bowl, having the opportunity to sign a second contract – when you look back on it, I couldn’t be more appreciative. It was great.”

Osweiler ends his NFL career with 49 regular-season appearances and a 15-15 record in 30 starts. He totaled 697 completions on 1,165 pass attempts, resulting in a 59.8 percent completion percentage, 7,418 passing yards, 37 touchdowns, and 31 interceptions.

Between having the opportunity to learn from Peyton Manning and signing a four-year, $72 million contract with the Houston Texans, the career path that Osweiler had was rather fascinating. He last played for the Miami Dolphins during the 2018 season but was released after playing eight games.
