The NFL season opener between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Dallas Cowboys was everything everybody had hoped for. Tom Brady played well, Dak Prescott made his return, and it took a game-winning field goal with under 10 seconds to seal the deal on Thursday night.

Apparently everybody was entertained, as the game shattered records.

26 million viewers tuned in. marking the highest numbers for an opener since 2015. Of course, it definitely helped to have the Super Bowl Champions and America's Team facing off on the NFL opener, not to mention the outstanding quarterback battle.

But still, it was an instant classic and the NFL is sitting back smiling brightly as the schedule makers absolutely nailed the first matchup of the year.

Tom Brady was wonderful, Dak Prescott made a fantastic return from ankle surgery and received praised from a ton of athletes across the country as well. If this is a sign of things to come, the NFL could be in line for monster viewership numbers all season long.

The Chicago Bears and Los Angeles Rams play on Sunday night, and then the first Monday night game is the Baltimore Ravens and Las Vegas Raiders, but the Bcs-Cowboys made it hard to live up to these expectations.
