Colin Kaepernick's attorney is of the opinion that the New England Patriots and Carolina Panthers are two possible NFL landing spots for the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback.

Kaepernick and the NFL reached a settlement regarding his collusion grievance against the league, with Panthers safety Eric Reid resolving his own grievance as well.

So, with that solved, speculation has already begun as to when Kaepernick may return to the NFL.

His attorney, Mark Geragos, seemed to offer a potential answer to that question during a CNN interview on Saturday night.

After speaking with Kaepernick, Geragos had this to say, courtesy of ESPN's Mike Reiss:

“I think you're going to see … within the next two weeks that somebody is going to step up and do the right thing, and you want me to predict who?” Geragos told ESPN. “Besides the Panthers, it would not surprise me if [Patriots owner] Bob Kraft makes a move.”

Geragos mentioned that the Panthers made sense due to Cam Newton's ongoing shoulder issues, and it would also allow Kaepernick to reconnect with Reid.

As for the Patriots, it's going to be Tom Brady's team for as long as he wants to play, so the quarterback situation seems pretty set there.

Kaepernick has not played since the 2016 season and currently has 72 career passing touchdowns to go along with 30 interceptions.
