Longtime NFL super-agent Drew Rosenhaus believes Colin Kaepernick will get another opportunity to play football.

Rosenhaus stated it is “important” for the league to give Kaepernick a shot. He also said the former San Francisco 49ers star should not continue to be punished for a message that now resonates loud and clear around the country (via Christian Red of NBC News):

“I think (Kaepernick) should get signed. I think he will get signed. It’s really important for the NFL to give him a chance,” said Rosenhaus, who’s been an agent for over three decades and represented big-name players like Plaxico Burress and Terrell Owens. “That would be great for the league at this juncture. I think it would reflect very well on everything that Kaepernick has stood up for over the last several years. He was really ahead of his time with a lot of the things he was saying. If you play many of his interviews years ago, they’re spot on today.”

Kaepernick has not played in the NFL since 2017 when he first began taking a knee during the national anthem in protest of police brutality and racial injustice.

“Kap” held a private workout in November of 2019, but it was mired by a strange back-and-forth between his personal camp and league officials. The NFL was initially supposed to sponsor the workout, but a number of disputes led to Kaepernick organizing things on his own.

However, there is an increasing number of rumors suggesting a potential return is imminent for Kaepernick.

Former Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll suggested at least one team is interested in signing the 32-year-old, and others around the league seem to be building a case for welcoming Kaepernick back to the NFL.
