The controversial Colin Kaepernick workout has finally come to a close as around eight teams came out to watch him throw the football. Depending on the circumstances that happened before, during, and after the one-day tryout, you either see the event as a huge failure or a resounding success.

Kaepernick refused to hold his tryouts in the Atlanta Falcons facility due to the NFL banning any kind of media coverage on the site. Instead, he held his tryout at Charles R. Drew High School. While the league was reportedly disappointed that he “did not appear for his workout,” a couple of NFL scouts followed him to his new location and watched him throw passes.

After his 40-minute exhibition, Jourdan Rodrigue took a snap of a moment that will give some Kap supporters a glimmer of hope: the former San Francisco 49ers QB is talking to a couple of NFL scouts.

The fact that these three teams moved to where he was holding a tryout is an indication of the level of interest in getting him to their team. After all, he did lead the 49ers to a Super Bowl appearance. There are also plenty of teams with QB problems.

In terms of the overall workout, it went quite well. Kap showed up with a bulkier physique, and he still got the accuracy that helped the 49ers made a run to the Super Bowl.

He also has a message for all of the 32 teams and the NFL:

“I’ve been ready for three years,” Kaepernick said, per ESPN. “I’ve been denied for three years. We all know why I came out here: showed it today in front of everybody. We have nothing to hide. So we’re waiting for the 32 owners, 32 teams, Roger Goodell, all of them stop running. Stop running from the truth. Stop running from the people.

Whether a team would actually step up and sign him is a different matter altogether.
