Former NFL star Earl Thomas reportedly sent threatening messages to a woman and now has a warrant out for his arrest, per JPA Football on Twitter.

Thomas has had off-the-field issues in the past. It's partially why he hasn't played in the league since 2019 with the Ravens. This offseason, Thomas was ready to try and make a return to the NFL. Now, that seems entirely unlikely after the latest off-the-field issues.

The former NFL star turns 33 years old on Saturday. Thomas spent nine years with the Seahawks from 2010-2018 as one of the league's premier safeties. After he infamously flipped off the Seahawks sideline in 2018 while being carted off the field, his time in Seattle was over.

After rumors with the Cowboys circulated for awhile, Thomas ended up signing a four-year, $55 million deal with the Ravens. The Texas Longhorn product spent 2019 with the Ravens, picking off two passes en route to his seventh Pro Bowl appearance. That was his only season in Baltimore, as he was subsequently released in the 2019 offseason.

Thomas punched fellow defensive back teammate Chuck Clark and was cut by the Ravens after they failed to find a trade partner. The Ravens terminated his contract due to him violating the team's personal conduct policy.

That's the last we've seen of Earl Thomas in an NFL uniform. His play wasn't as good in 2019, but it's not like he wasn't still a quality NFL starting safety. Instead, he's given NFL teams no choice but to not allow him back into the league after a spotty past.
