President Donald Trump held a rally on Saturday in Tulsa, Oklahoma and he spoke about the topics that he knew would draw applause from his crowd. Furthermore, Trump would take a shot at Roger Goodell and warned the NFL about losing fans.

Earlier this month, Goodell released an apology to players in the NFL, condemning racism and supporting the Black Lives Matter movement. At the same time, the commissioner of the NFL insinuated that he'd stand behind players kneeling for the National Anthem. That didn't sit well with Trump:

“Explain this to the NFL,” Trump said. “I like the NFL. I like Roger Goodell. But I didn’t like what he said a week ago. I said, ‘Where did that come from in the middle of the summer? Nobody’s even asking.'”

On top of that, Goodell proceeded to say that he encourages teams in the NFL to sign Colin Kaepernick.

Of course, Kaepernick was the first player to begin kneeling during the anthem to speak out against social issues. The president of the United States is still of the belief that kneeling during the anthem is disrespectful to the flag:

“We will never kneel to our national anthem or our great American flag. We will stand proud, and we will stand tall. I thought we won that battle with the NFL. Their stadiums were emptying out. Did you see those stadiums? Took them a long time to get you back. Lot of people didn’t like that. You know, lot of people that you wouldn’t even think would care that much. I’ve had people that I said, ‘These are super-left liberals,’ and they didn’t like it.”

Back in 2016, when players began kneeling during the anthem, the NFL took a strong stance against the players. However, Goodell has seemingly altered his opinion on the matter due to the recent events that have taken place.

Even though Trump states he won't watch games if players are kneeling, it doesn't appear that the NFL is worried about losing one fan.
