The Baltimore Ravens made headlines with the release of safety Eric Weddle. It appears he has not ruled out staying in the AFC North.

Baltimore has ushered in a bit of a youth movement over the past year. According to ESPN's Jamison Hensley, Weddle has no ill will toward the franchise.

“No hard feelings,” Weddle said. “[GM Eric DeCosta] said we're releasing you and said some nice things about me. That was it. They're moving forward.” His release will become official this afternoon.

Although there are no hard feelings, Weddle seems to be open to the prospect of joining a rival team this offseason.

“Yeah, that would be,” Weddle said. “It's not out of the question, though.”

Weddle is now set to join a free agency market that is loaded with notable players at the safety position. Although the 34-year-old is in the final stretch of his career, he is still one of the more dependable players in the league. The veteran will likely be looking to join a potential contender for next season.

Among the teams that could be interested in acquiring Weddle's services is the Pittsburgh Steelers. Pittsburgh had reportedly been looking to sign him prior to the 2016 campaign. The six-time Pro Bowler could potentially serve as a stabilizing factor in the Steelers' young secondary.

Meanwhile, teams like the Cincinnati Bengals and Cleveland Browns have a number of other voids to address on their roster that may take priority. Regardless, it will be interesting to see where Eric Weddle ends up this offseason.
