Former Chicago Bears head coach and Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator Marc Trestman is known best for his time north of the border as a member of the Canadian Football League (CFL). However, it appears as though Trestman will be heading to yet another league sometime in the near future and it is neither the CFL nor NFL.

According to a recent report from Thomas Bassinger of the Tampa Bay Times, Trestman will be making his way to the XFL come 2020.

“Marc Trestman will be the head coach of the Tampa Bay XFL team, the Tampa Bay Times has learned,” writes the aforementioned Bassinger. “When reached, Trestman politely directed inquiries to the league. The XFL declined comment. A news conference is scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday.”

The 63-year-old Trestman sandwiched his stint in the NFL with two different stints in the CFL ranks. First serving as the head coach of the Montreal Alouettes, a team that Trestman led to consecutive Grey Cup titles, between 2008 and 2012, he most recently returned to Canada en route to leading the Toronto Argonauts.

In between his time in the CFL, Trestman served as the head coach of the Bears between 2013 and 2014 while then going on to serve as the offensive coordinator of the Ravens between 2015 and 2016.

Although not as successful during his time in the NFL with the Bears and Ravens, Trestman now seems likely to attempt to make a stamp on a third professional football league — an honor that not many can claim, that's for sure.
