Former Cincinnati Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis has expressed a desire to continue coaching after being fired by the team on Monday.

Lewis was let go by the Bengals after 16 seasons on job, as he was unable to turn a corner this year in leading Cincinnati to a disappointing 6-10 record.

It marked the third straight losing season for the Bengals after five straight playoff appearances.

One of the biggest knocks on Lewis was his inability to find success in the postseason, with the Bengals going winless in their seven playoff games since he took over the job back in 2003.

Despite those struggled leading him to being ousted in Cincinnati, it sounds like Lewis wants to keep coaching, according to ESPN's Katherine Terrell.

The lack of playoff wins is undoubtedly the biggest area of concern for other teams who may be interested in Lewis for their head coaching vacancy. And, at this point, there are a lot of jobs that already have or are expected to become available.

He is likely one of the most experienced candidates on the coaching market right now, and he did manage to put together six double-digit win seasons during his run in Cincinnati.

But, as we know, the NFL is a results-based business that awards those who can achieve success in the postseason.

Still, if Lewis wants to stay as a head coach rather than moving into a coordinator role, he would seem to be someone that would at least garner some attention from front offices around the league.
