Former NFL star Drew Brees sent NBC back to square one with his announcement that he would not be returning to the network as an analyst after one year in the studio and the booth. As such, NBC had to begin a search for Brees' replacement. Well, they've found him. This former Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants coach, a notorious clapper of his hands, will be replacing the former NFL quarterback as an NBC analyst, per Giants Wire and the New York Post.

The New York Post reports that Garrett will replace Brees on NBC’s NFL pregame show, “Football Night in America,” and the 56-year-old “could still also succeed Brees as NBC’s Notre Dame game analyst, but a final decision has not been made there, according to sources.”

Jason Garrett will be replacing Drew Brees at NBC this fall. That's right, former Giants and Cowboys coach- and the supreme clapper himself- will be in the studio for the network's ‘Football Night in America' show.

Garrett could still succeed Brees in the booth as an analyst for Notre Dame games, though that has yet to be determined. While there were certainly other names that NBC could have gone with, it's possible that the former Giants and Cowboys coach could be a natural in a television role.

Crazier things have happened.
