Running back Frank Gore continues to defy the laws of Father Time with each year. It seems he plans on doing it again for the 2020 NFL Season.

According to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo, Gore is working out in preparation for next season.

“He is not looking to retire and expects to play in 2020.”

Garafolo added that Gore is currently working out with Kansas City Chiefs running back LeSean McCoy. The pair were poised to serve in the same backfield together with the Buffalo Bills until McCoy was released prior to the 2019 NFL season. Regardless, it is clear that the two still established a close relationship during their brief stint as teammates.

McCoy's departure would open up more opportunities for Frank Gore. The veteran took full advantage by rushing for 599 yards and two touchdowns on 166 carries while serving as part of a 1-2 punch in the backfield with rookie Devin Singletary. His looming free-agent status indicates that Buffalo is ready to move forward with Singletary as the primary workhorse.

Gore will be 37 years old at the start of the 2020 campaign. It is safe to say that he has managed to far exceed the shelf life of most running backs and reports indicate that he still has some gas left in the tank. The question now remains on which teams are looking to secure a veteran piece to add to their run game this offseason.

It will be interesting to see if he can link up with a playoff contender for one more run at a Super Bowl.
