Former Baltimore Ravens wide receiver and current free agent Jeremy Maclin still plans on joining an NFL team this year, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Maclin is reportedly recovering from a hamstring injury and will be back at full capacity in a few weeks.

The Philadelphia Eagles selected Maclin No. 19 overall from Missouri in the 2009 NFL Draft. Maclin spent five seasons with the Eagles and missed out on the 2013 season due to an ACL tear. He bounced back to have the best season of his career, recording 85 receptions for 1,318 yards and 10 receiving touchdowns in 2014.

After departing from Philly, Maclin spent two seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs and one season with the Ravens. He recorded a career low in receptions (40) and receiving yards (440) in his lone season in Baltimore.

Lots of teams are lacking depth at the wide receiver position and could make use of Maclin with an early or midseason signing. The Jacksonville Jaguars just lost their No. 1 receiver in Marqise Lee, while the New England Patriots are seeking more veteran pass catchers. A return to Philly isn't out of the question, as they will be without two of their top four receivers in their season opener on Thursday.

Maclin is an athlete with great straight-line speed and can make defenders miss in tight spaces. His skills as a runner in the open field and ability to explode vertically and reach above opposing defensive backs will make him a sought-after target as the season progresses.
