New York Giants' defensive back DeAndre Baker and Seattle Seahawks' defensive back Quinton Dunbar made the news for all the wrong reasons this offseason.

The two were allegedly involved in a robbery that involved a firearm. And now the charges against the two have been discovered according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

It is bad news for Baker, who is being charged with four counts of robbery with a firearm. But it is significantly better for Dunbar – who is not being charged due to insufficient evidence.

According to Ralph Vacchiano of SNY, the NFL is monitoring the situation with Baker.

Hearing that, it's pretty obvious that Baker is going to be separately punished by the NFL. It's hard to imagine he won't be facing some sort of suspension from the league, even if it's just a few games.

Dunbar, on the other hand will be an interesting case. If he is not being charged with anything, he can make the argument that he did nothing wrong. There is no proof he was involved, so he could fight any punishment the NFL might throw at him.

Maybe the Seahawks will serve him a one-game suspension or something, but it's difficult to see the NFL getting involved unless things change on the Dunbar front.

This is tough news for Baker, who had a promising start to his career. There were some struggles in his rookie campaign in 2019, but he showed growth and made a lot of nice plays. And at just 22, he had plenty of time to grow into the star he had potential to be.

This throws a major wrench in those plans.

Dunbar meanwhile, established himself as a very good defensive back over the last five seasons with the Washington Football Team. He had injury problems, but was the best cornerback on the team for the last few seasons.

Now with Seattle, he looked ready to take the next step into the elite cornerback category. With no charges pressed against him, he may have dodged a bullet and can continue his career immediately.

There will be more developments in the case though, and more developments with the two players as it pertains to league punishments. So keep your eyes and ears open for more news on Baker and Dunbar, it will be coming.
