Teams around the NFL have begun to get the go-ahead to re-open their team facilities, with the New York Giants and New York Jets added to that list on Tuesday. Phil Murphy, the Governor of New Jersey, is allowing professional sports teams in New Jersey to resume activities.

Contrary to their names, the Giants and the Jets conduct their football operations in New Jersey. For the Jets, they are headquartered in Florham Park, New Jersey.

On the other hand, the Giants conduct their offseason at the Meadowlands Sports Complex in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Of course, both New York team play their NFL home games at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford.

Earlier this week, Andrew Cuomo — the Governor of New York — exclaimed that teams in New York can return to training. Instead of the Giants and Jets being cleared — as some believed — that allowed the Buffalo Bills to be given the green light this offseason.

Not long ago, the NFL sent a memo to teams that expressed how the league plans on having teams re-open their team facilities. Within the memo, the NFL shared that each team will require clearance from their local and state governments.

As of right now, teams are limited in who can return to the facilities. Unless you are a player recovering from an injury, then coaches and players are not allowed to return yet.

Until each team is given clearance to return, the NFL won't allow coaches and players to return. But with the Giants and Jets getting the okay to conduct training camps and return to offseason activities, the league is one step closer to their ultimate goal of all 32 teams returning.
