Former NFL head coach Hue Jackson thinks NFL personnel had a real interest in seeing what Colin Kaepernick could do on the field. There were some who thought what the NFL was putting on was a sham, but Jackson doesn't think that was the case.

“There’s no question in my mind that that was the case, that the people who were there were there for that reason, that they were going to do everything they could to create the right environment for him to show his best,” former Browns and Raiders coach Hue Jackson said on ESPN via Pro Football Talk.

Jackson was the coach who was supposed to conduct the on-field workout put on the NFL. Jackson said he didn't find out until about ten minutes before the workout was supposed to start that Kaepernick had decided to pull out and moved the workout. Jackson didn't conduct the other workout, instead getting on a plane and flying back home.

“About 2:50 for me I knew for sure it wasn’t happening,” Jackson said.

Jackson said he was in contact with Kaepernick's agent before the workout and he was not given any indication that moving the workout might be in the works. Jackson liked Kapernick in 2011 before he came into the NFL and said he still hopes that he will get another shot in the NFL

Kaepernick still did workout for some NFL teams after canceling the NFL workout but it's unclear at this point if any of those teams have an interest in signing him.
