A lot has been going on in the NFL, including major changes in broadcast booths. Troy Aikman jumped the ship to commentate Monday Night Football for ESPN, while Kirk Herbstreit joined Amazon to commentate Thursday Night Football on Amazon. Now, retired quarterback Jay Cutler looks for a potential job.

According to Front Office Sports, Jay Cutler is interested in commentating NFL games in the booth. There are multiple broadcasting companies searching for talent and Cutler could be a fantastic option for any of them. The retired quarterback claims, “I would love to do it. I think it's a fun gig. It keeps you in the game. If an opportunity arises, I would jump at it.”

Considering Aikman switched over to ESPN, Fox Sports is currently searching for a new commentator. Additionally, “the former Chicago Bears quarterback was hired by Fox as its No. 2 analyst behind Aikman in 2017,” per Front Office Sports. The gig fell through when Cutler decided to go back to the NFL to play a backup quarterback role for the Miami Dolphins.

Networks have been paying large sums of money to NFL commentators recently. Perhaps after seeing Troy Aikman and Kirk Herbstreit secure the bag, Jay Cutler is ready to grab his slice of the pie too. He's not standing idly by either, as according to Front office Sports, “Cutler confirmed that his agents have already ‘floated' his name to Fox, Amazon, and others. TV would give him the freedom to do his podcast and work with Outsider.”

Look for Jay Cutler to potentially commentate NFL games next season, as it sounds like there is mutual interest between himself and Fox Sports. We'll see how it plays out, but keep an eye on Cutler throughout the offseason.
