With plenty of NFL teams in the hunt for a new coach, it’s not exactly surprising to hear Jim Harbaugh’s name pop up in conversations. That said, the Michigan Wolverines head coach himself shut down these rumors, per Angelique Chengeli of the Detroit News.

Although the Wolverines lost to the South Carolina Gamecocks in the Outback Bowl Monday, Harbaugh seems to be focused on getting back to work in Ann Arbor next season, which would be his fourth as head coach of the program.

Harbaugh’s solid NFL background as coach has made him a constant target of coaching rumors in the league. The 54-year-old head coach won an NFC title with the San Francisco 49ers in 2012, when he guided the team to a Super Bowl appearance. Harbaugh was also named NFL Coach of the Year in 2011.

Among all NFL teams being linked to Harbaugh, the Indianapolis Colts make sense the most. For one, Harbaugh has spent three seasons as quarterback of the Colts in the 1990s, plus the fact that Andrew Luck was his signal-caller when the Khaki-wearing mentor used to coach for Stanford.

The Chicago Bears could also be suitable for Harbaugh, as he’s played six seasons for them from 1987 to 1993.

In any case, coach-needy NFL teams will have to look for other options beside Harbaugh, who’s content with his current gig with Michigan.
