Michigan Wolverines coach Jim Harbaugh has been around the game of football for a long time but one guy really sticks out to him that he has had the opportunity to coach, Frank Gore. Harbaugh was Gore's coach on the San Francisco 49ers from 2011-2014 where Gore had some of the best years of his career.

At Harbaugh's weekly press conference on Wednesday, he was talking about Michigan's running game when he went off script and congratulated Gore for reaching 500 rushing yards for the 14th year in a row, breaking the previous NFL record.

“I feel strongly about having a good running game, which I would like to also congratulate Frank Gore, the record he set this past Sunday,” Harbaugh said via Pro Football Talk. “Frank is my favorite player of all time, that I’ve ever coached. But 14 years, each year rushing for over 500 yards, surpassing Walter Payton and Emmitt Smith, is incredible. Most of those 14 years were 1,000. . . . All respect to that accomplishment by Frank.”

As the years have gone Gore has not gotten as much attention as his younger days, but he is still a big part of the Miami Dolphins offense. He has rushed for 528 yards and although he hasn't found the end zone yet, when the team needs a few yards in a key spot, it seems to be who they turn to.

Although the Dolphins haven't had a great season, Gore still has been a bright spot. It's unclear if Gore will come back for another year, but with the way he produces it wouldn't be a surprise.
