According to a few new reports, former Minnesota Vikings offensive coordinator John DeFilippo has interviewed with both the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Arizona Cardinals for the offensive coordinator position on both teams.

DeFilippo, who is currently the Vikings offensive coordinator, was just confirmed to have interviewed with the Jaguars. And, according to Arizona Sports, he interviewed for the offensive coordinator position with the Cardinals just this past Sunday.

Although John DeFilippo has more than 12 years of coaching experience within the NFL, his time with the Vikings left much to be desired. As the offensive coordinator for the Minnesota Vikings, he didn't last throughout the season.

DeFilippo was fired in the 14th week of the season after the Vikings lost to the Seattle Seahawks, and took home a measly 7 points in that terrible game.

DeFilippo, who previously held the offensive coordinator position with the Cleveland Browns back in 2015, has spent most of his career as a quarterbacks' coach. As a result of his work with the Philadelphia Eagles in precisely this capacity, he helped lead the team to Super Bowl victory in 2017.

Additionally, he was a quarterbacks coach for the New York Jets and for two different stints with the Oakland Raiders.

It remains unclear why John DeFilippo isn't being considered for another quarterbacks coach within the NFL, but incoming Arizona Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury said that his team was looking for an offensive coordinator with experience that will “come in and help me mesh some of my ideas with some traditional things that they have done in the NFL.”
