New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels is a hot commodity on the head coaching market, but teams will have to wait a week before they get the chance to speak with him.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, McDaniels will not be interviewing with clubs until Jan. 10, which will be just ahead of the Divisional Round of the playoffs.

The Patriots will be playing a Wild Card Round game this Saturday, as they will host the Tennessee Titans.

Candidates whose respective squads are playing in the Wild Card Round are eligible to conduct interviews after their teams have played. The interviews must also be done before the Divisional Round.

Josh McDaniels has generated interest from the Cleveland Browns, Carolina Panthers and New York Giants, who have all requested to sit down with the 43-year-old.

This is not the first time that McDaniels' name has been cast into the head-coaching ring.

After serving his first stint as New England's offensive coordinator from 2005 through 2008, McDaniels was hired as head coach by the Denver Broncos.

However, McDaniels did not even last two full seasons in the Mile High City, as the Broncos fired him after he went 11-17 during his time at the helm.

McDaniels proceeded to take a job as offensive coordinator of the St. Louis Rams in 2011, spending one season there before returning to the Pats.

Then, in February 2018, Josh McDaniels was hired as head coach of the Indianapolis Colts, but he backed out of the deal in the midnight hour and elected to return to the Patriots.
