The situation regarding NFL free agent Richard Sherman continues to develop after he was arrested early Wednesday morning and reports came out about his involvement in a hit-and-run. Well, more developments emerged on Thursday regarding Sherman's situation. According to ESPN, Sherman was released and was placed with several conditions.

“A King County (Washington) judge ordered Richard Sherman to be released from custody on his personal recognizance Thursday under several conditions…Judge Fa'amomoi Masaniai also ordered Sherman not to drink alcohol or do drugs and he is not allowed to have contact with his father-in-law…”

So while Sherman was released from custody, he has a lot of conditions he must follow. The judge also stated that Sherman's background and good history played a factor in the release of the former NFL Pro Bowler, who spent time with both the Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers.

“I see Mr. Sherman as a pillar in this community. He's a business owner, a husband, he's a father. I'm going to release Sherman on his own promise to return to court.”

Despite the strong backing from the judge, Sherman's situation continues to grow, especially after the chilling 911 phone call was released. Sherman's wife also issued a statement after the incident, so there is a lot to unpack regarding the current NFL free agent, whose playing status could take a major hit depending on the legal decision.

Sherman's court hearing is set for Friday.
