The Washington Redskins made a major splash in free agency this year, signing safety Landon Collins to a six-year deal. This would've been a massive move no matter what, but the fact that he comes from the division rival New York Giants made it all that much more newsworthy.

Well the fun doesn't stop there.

According to Jordan Raanan of ESPN, Landon Collins has some simple words on the rivalry. The safety believes “It's going to be crazy.”

Any divisional rivalry is going to be fun. That being said, there are a lot of reasons to believe the Washington Redskins and New York Giants could be intense for years to come.

First is the obvious Collins. The safety switched teams and as one of the premier talents at his position, it will be newsworthy whenever he clashes with his old team.

Then of course, there are the young players in exciting positions.

Both have young second-year running backs. The Giants have Saquon Barkley, who ran through the NFL in his rookie year. Meanwhile the Redskins have Derrius Guice, who didn't play last season due to injury but many expect big things from.

Then of course, there are the new franchise quarterbacks.

Both teams took quarterbacks in the first-round of the 2019 NFL Draft. New York drafted Daniel Jones with the sixth overall pick, while Washington selected Dwayne Haskins with the 15th overall pick.

The two quarterbacks will now be linked for life, and help kindle a larger rivalry between the two teams. Every time they face off people will be comparing the season stats and team records, as well as how they do against each other.

It's hard to disagree with Landon Collins when looking at the factors. The Washington Redskins and New York Giants are about to be in a pretty “crazy” rivalry for quite some time.
