The 2020 NFL Draft is now behind us. The league is now turning its attention to how it can adjust the season due to the coronavirus pandemic. In case the coronavirus pandemic is still prevalent later this year, the league is considering multiple options, including delays.

As of this moment, there have been no changes made to the beginning of the 2020 NFL regular season. However, that could be subject to change in the coming months, depending on what’s going on with the coronavirus.

The 2020 NFL regular season is currently scheduled to kick off on Thursday, September 10. But if the coronavirus remains a major issue, the league could possibly postpone the first game of the season to Thursday, October 15.

With that in mind, that would mean the Super Bowl would also be pushed back as well. Instead of Sunday, February 7, it would be postponed until Sunday, February 28.

Besides the postponed dates, the NFL has proposed to rid of bye weeks next season and eliminate the Pro Bowl. Of course, these are all ideas that have been tossed around, without anything being definite yet.

After the 2020 NFL Draft, an emotional Jerry Jones assured fans that there will be NFL games this year. Despite the likeliness of games being played, it remains to be seen when and how the NFL plans on conducting games.

Unlike the other major sports leagues, the NFL hasn’t had their regular season affected by the coronavirus yet. With that being said, the NFL is going to have contingency plans in place to keep their regular season on track.
