The NFL is continuing to alter some events this offseason and there is doubt that the coronavirus pandemic will end anytime soon. With teams working from home, a league executive expects no in-person activities to occur before training camp.

Next month, the NFL has already chosen to revise the 2020 NFL Draft to accommodate the current circumstances. Besides the NFL Draft, the league has already postponed the annual owner meetings and canceled pre-draft visits.

For the time being, players are stuck at home trying to maintain in shape while they are unable to utilize team facilities. In the event that offseason programs are canceled, the NFL has spoken about an idea to have video workouts and online classroom sessions for players.

Shortly after the upcoming draft, there are NFL offseason activities that include rookie minicamps. However, if the coronavirus continues into the summer, it’s hard to envision minicamps taking shape.

On the other hand, the annual NFL owner meetings are supposed to take place on Monday and Tuesday. The owners are expected to be on a conference call to vote on the idea of the extended playoff format.

As of right now, the regular season for the NFL is prepared to begin as scheduled in September. But with the uncertainty surrounding the coronavirus, it remains to be seen if the start of the season remains intact.

Until the coronavirus begins to die down, teams can’t hold events that contain a large mass of people. Therefore, even though it’s months away, the start of training camps are also in jeopardy of being altered.
