It's only Week 1 and already the NFL has to remind coaches what they are supposed to do in order to keep the 2020 NFL season moving forward.

In a memo sent to all 32 teams, NFL executive Troy Vincent made the NFL's message on masks clear — wear it properly or suffer the consequences.

NFL exec Troy Vincent sent a “sharply worded” memo to clubs today, reminding coaches on importance of wearing face coverings on sideline, as @SeifertESPN reported. Different coaches approached mask rules in different ways — and many noticed. If it continues, fines will ensue.

Following Andy Reid's face visor to start off the season on Thursday night set the bar, various coaches wore face masks in various ways throughout Sunday, and some wore them in ways that will not fly with the NFL front office.

A number of coaches, including the Los Angeles Rams' Sean McVay, Buffalo Bills' Sean McDermott and Minnesota Vikings' Mike Zimmer were caught with their mask down throughout the game. Even Reid was caught with his visor up during the Chiefs game on Thursday night. This is something that the NFL will not tolerate and are making real threats against the coaches to try to quell the trend early on. If coaches do not follow the protocol they could incur fines, and potentially suspensions.

While the NFL has been full steam ahead for the entirety of the pandemic, these are the types of things that could put the season in jeopardy. While nothing has happened yet, the NFL is focused on making sure nothing will happen in the future.
