New Orleans Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas and Miami Dolphins wide receiver DeVante Parker did not see eye-to-eye in the comments section of Instagram earlier in the day on Monday. With this tandem off to quite the start to the week on social media, it appears as though Parker was just giving a simple answer before Thomas elected to chime in.

Parker said that making a catch while being guarded by New England Patriots cornerback and last year's Defensive Player of the Year Stephon Gilmore would be harder than breaking up a pass upon guarding Thomas, the reigning Offensive Player of the Year. Of course, Thomas didn't take too kindly to such a remark, setting off the fireworks on Instagram, via Brendan Tobin's Twitter.

The Saints and Dolphins were definitely on very different playing fields last season, though Miami has a bright future ahead of it as it stands today.

However, Parker had an impressive season and has really upped his stock as of late. Unfortunately for the Dolphins pass catcher, though, Thomas had a historic season in 2019-20. Thomas went on to lead the NFL with 149 receptions — the most receptions by a player in a single season in NFL history — for 1,725 yards last year. Thomas has now recorded at least 1,000 receiving yards in each of his first four seasons in New Orleans. Parker recorded his first 1,000-yard receiving season with 1,202 yards last season. He also added nine touchdowns on 72 receptions in 2019-20.

The Saints will enter the 2020 campaign as one of the favorites to come out of the NFC while Thomas is definitely due for yet another huge year. Parker and the Dolphins are a bit behind that pace, though Miami could surprise a few folks moving forward.
