Peter King has long been one of the most respected NFL writers around, but he recently made a pretty strange proclamation, saying that he could not include Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown in his list of top 10 or 20 wide outs this season.

Obviously, such a statement would be met with some resistance, and one of the critics of King's opinion is Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide out Mike Evans:

Now, to be fair, King did not say that Brown is not one of the top 20 wide receivers in the NFL. Context is key here. What he said is that he could not in good faith put Brown on his All-Pro ballot because of his actions over the final week of the season:

“I thought about it, and I said, ‘I can't in good conscience put a guy who took the equivalent of six percent of the season, and flushed it down the toilet when the Steelers were in a playoff implication game.' And so Mike [Florio], I ended up voting for Michael Thomas and I took Antonio Brown off my All-Pro ballot,” King said on Pro Football Talk Live. “I'm very, very serious about these votes, and they mean a lot to me. But if a guy takes six percent of his season and purposefully flushes it down the toilet … I can't vote for him for anything. He wouldn't be among my top 10 or 20 receivers for the season.”

So, let's give King the benefit of the doubt here, because he was merely talking about Brown's antics rather than his performance, which is fair.
