  • Gil Brandt
  • Tony Gonzalez
  • Ty Law
  • Kevin Mawae
  • Ed Reed
  • Johnny Robinson

This list is highlighted by three modern players, Champ Bailey, Tony Gonzales, and Ed Reed.

After being drafted as the No. 7 overall pick in the 1999 NFL Draft out of Georgia, Bailey was a three-time First-Team All-Pro, two-time Second-Team All-Pro, NFL 2000s All-Decade Team, and Denver Broncos 50th Anniversary Team selection. He was one of the league’s premier cover corners for over a decade.

For his entire career, he had 908 tackles, three sacks, 174 pass defenses, 52 interceptions, and seven forced fumbles over 15 seasons. His 12 Pro Bowl selections are the most ever for a cornerback.

Gonzales was a seventeen year NFL veteran who was considered the best tight end in the league for a long while. He was a 14-time pro bowler and a six-time All-Pro tight end. He had 13 seasons with at least 800 receiving yards and 14 seasons with at least 70 receptions. His best year came in 2004 with the Kansas City Chiefs, where he led the league with 102 receptions, 1,258 yards, and seven total touchdowns.

Ed Reed was also one of the best ball-hawking safeties in the NFL in the 2000s. The nine-time Pro Bowler and five-time All-Pro and 2004 defensive player of the year led the NFL in interceptions three times. He had 64 interceptions across his entire career to go with seven touchdowns.
