The NFLPA updated a blunder on Tuesday when presenting new information on the latest batch of COVID-19 testing results. According to ESPN's Field Yates, the players union updated the “95” number of positive coronavirus cases among NFL players to 59.

The NFL has spent most of July fighting with new player demands for more rigid and improved health and safety protocols in the lead-up to the 2020 season. The NFLPA pushed for a reduction in preseason games—once cut from four to two—and this week saw the league agree to the demand.

Further, the Players Association and league agreed to daily testing for COVID-19, which in spite of impacting the NFL the least out of major sports has still pushed events such offseason workouts and training camp back and delayed. According to the Washington Post, daily testing will only occur for a two-week period for players.

The 59 players testing positive for coronavirus, the persistent public-health crisis in the world and particular in the U.S., comes in at a lower number since the last released results. Five days ago the NFLPA released results showing 72 players testing positive.

NFL training camps are set to start seeing players attend next week on July 28. With no preseason, however, players and teams will practice and ready themselves for the 2020 regular season, which may see fans not allowed in stadiums. In New Jersey, for example, the New York Giants and Jets' MetLife Stadium will be without fans in attendance in 2020, the state's governor announced yesterday.
