The NFL is taking all of the necessary precautions that they can take with the Tennessee Titans producing multiple positive COVID-19 tests. According to ESPN's Kevin Seifert, the officiating crew that worked Tennessee's Week 3 game against the Minnesota Vikings won't work in Week 4.

Following the Titans' narrow victory over the Vikings, it was discovered that three players and five personnel members on the Titans tested positive for COVID-19. Unlike the situation that occurred in August, it was confirmed that the tests weren't false-positives.

Also, on Monday, Tennessee placed DaQuan Jones, Beau Brinkley, and Tommy Hudson on the team's COVID-19 reserve list. At the same time, the Titans and the Vikings will be unable to return to their team facilities until the league gives them the go-ahead to do so.

The officiating crew during Sunday's game was headed by Clete Blakeman. Besides Blakeman, the rest of his crew will not referee a game in Week 4 after the Titans-Vikings developments.

Instead of Blakeman's crew, the NFL will have another crew fill in for the game he was supposed to work. As Seifert points out, the league always has a backup crew that can replace one due to a variety of reasons.

It remains to be seen if the Titans are able to play their Week 4 contest versus the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday. The league has discussed the possibility of postponing the game until Monday.

But while there is uncertainty surrounding their ability to play, the officiating crew in the Titans' last game won't be manning a game this weekend.
