Unsurprisingly, a fight has broken out at an NFL training camp. What's a little bit surprising is that it was between the Detroit Lions and New England Patriots. Both sides got into it after a routine play, according to Zack Cox of the New England Sports Network:

While fights are never a good thing, the image of Matt Patricia flying over on his ATV is one everyone would like to see. Patricia was Bill Belichick's defensive coordinator from 2012 through 2017 before jumping ship to Detroit for the 2018 season. The former Patriots coach won three Super Bowls under Belichick, and he left New England on friendly terms with the organization.

The Lions' roster is also full of former Pats players. 2019 free-agent signee Trey Flowers is most notable, along with receiver Danny Amendola. Flowers was New England's best pass rusher last year, amassing 7.5 sacks and three forced fumbles. The former Arkansas Razorback signed a five-year, 90 million dollar contract in the offseason to become Detroit's star edge player. Amendola came to the Motor City after a brief stay with the Miami Dolphins. He is expected to start in Detroit, alongside receivers Kenny Golladay and Marvin Jones.

New England is not a team that typically looks kindly on things like fighting. It wouldn't come as a surprise to see some of the players involved disciplined by Belichick, who was also present for the practice. But training camp fights do come regularly during joint practices, so this can't really come as a big surprise.
