Peyton Manning isn't shutting the door on becoming an NFL executive just yet. Ever since he retired, the legendary quarterback has been brought up in connection with seemingly every front office opening. Manning has consistently shutdown speculation about him running a team, but he apparently isn't too opposed to the idea of one day getting involved.

TMZ Sports recently tracked Manning down, and the former Colts and Broncos signal-caller didn't entirely shoot things down.

“I kind of like being a fan,” Manning said at first. “[I get to] go to a lot of games … see the Broncos play, Colts play, see the Giants play … so I'm kind of enjoying doing that part of it right now but we'll see,” he continued.

Of course, the “we'll see” is what is going to get most of the attention here. There were rumors about Manning taking a job in the Browns' front office when Sashi Brown got fired, and there were also murmurs about him teaming up with his old friend Adam Gase in New York after Gase took the Jets' job.

But so far Manning has been keeping a relatively low profile since retiring, outside of hosting a film breakdown show on ESPN+. He's also long been talked about as a potential broadcasting candidate, and there was speculation ESPN would look to add him to the Monday Night Football team after Jason Witten left.

Essentially, Manning can do whatever he wants. Whatever his next move is going to be, he can have his pick of jobs. And while he's enjoying being a fan for now, it seems like his competitive itch may get the better of him at some point.
