Ever since Eli Manning decided to officially announce his retirement with the New York Giants, there has been much speculation on what he'll do after football. While speaking to Holly Rowe of ESPN, Peyton Manning talked about potentially calling games with his brother Eli.
“Golly, it’d be so hard to get a word in,” Manning told Holly Rowe with a big smile. “Eli, we’re always arguing over who’s going to say what. So I’m not sure the two of us would fit in that booth together. But I look forward to doing some fun things with him — in the fall especially — that we haven’t had a chance to do in a long time. He’s at peace so I’m happy about that.”
Over the past couple of years, the Monday Night Football crew has been scrutinized by fans. Without a doubt, ESPN hears the chatter from fans and could decide to make a switch for next season.
Of course, Peyton already works with ESPN as he continues to be the host of “Peyton's Places”—an exclusive show that looks back on the 100 years of the NFL. Given the connection, many have implied that Eli could pair up with his brother to commentate games in 2020.
However, with Peyton Manning's latest comments, it doesn't appear that it will come into fruition during the offseason. Even though they likely won't be in a booth together, the Manning brothers could join each other for an exclusive show on ESPN.
Both Peyton and Eli Manning have had previous experience working together in commercials. There's no doubt that a booth containing both Manning brothers would be must-watch television. But to the dismay of fans, the two likely won't be calling games together anytime soon.
