There is uncertainty surrounding the 2020 NFL season and there is some new information pertaining to training camps. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, players are expected to attend training camps on July 28 with a shortened preseason on the horizon.

Every single season, the NFL allows certain players to show up to training camps early. This offseason, it was scheduled for those certain players to report to training camp between July 13-24.

However, due to COVID-19, teams around the league are preparing for all players to arrive on July 28. Although, that could be subject to change in the coming weeks.

On the other hand, it’s looking more and more likely that the NFL is going to shorten the preseason in 2020. On Thursday morning, it was announced that the Hall of Fame game was canceled this year. Also, the Hall of Fame ceremony was postponed until sometime next year.

The Dallas Cowboys and Pittsburgh Steelers were slated to kick off the preseason schedule in 2020. But with the Hall of Fame festivities being canceled and postponed this year, both teams will play in the Hall of Fame game in 2021.

While teams recently concluded their virtual offseason programs, training camps are scheduled to get underway next month. Provided that, the league is doing everything they can to make sure they take extra precautions ahead of time due to the coronavirus.

For the most part, the NFL has been able to go about their offseason normally. With that being said, teams around the league expect some alterations to take place to training camps and the preseason.
