It has recently been discovered that Vincent Jackson, a former NFL wide receiver for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and San Diego Chargers, was found dead on Monday. According to Ryan Bass, the police are investigating what led to the untimely passing of Jackson at a Tampa-area hotel.

For the time being, the police don't know what the cause of death was for Vincent Jackson. Bass did say that his family reported him as missing last week before he was found out to be checked into a hotel in the Tampa area.

The full police report for Jackson's death has also been released, via NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Jackson began his career in the NFL as a second-round pick of the Chargers in the 2005 NFL Draft as a prospect from Northern Colorado. The Colorado native would spend the first seven years of his career with the Chargers before testing free agency following the 2011 season.

In his seven seasons with the Chargers, Vincent Jackson would accumulate 272 receptions for 4,754 yards and 37 touchdowns. The 6-foot-5 wideout would be a top pass-catching option for Philip Rivers alongside Antonio Gates and Malcolm Floyd. To this day, Jackson is 10th all-time in Chargers' history in receiving yards and is eighth all-time in receiving touchdowns in franchise history.

Following his time with the Chargers, Jackson signed a five-year deal with the Buccaneers in 2012. Jackson, who was 38 years old, would compile 4,326 yards and 20 touchdowns, including three straight 1,000-yard seasons from 2012-2014. Throughout his career, he would make three Pro Bowls (two with the Chargers, one with the Buccaneers).

It goes without saying that we send our thoughts and condolences to Jackson's family and friends as they deal with their heartbreaking loss.
