With the NFL combine happening this weekend in Indianapolis, it looks like the trade market is heating up for Antonio Brown with the Oakland Raiders, Washington Redskins, and the Tennessee Titans having the most interest right now.
Adam Schefter of ESPN said that the Pittsburgh Steelers are looking for at least a first round pick along with other compensation to get the deal done.
“The three teams that have shown the most interest in wide receiver Antonio Brown to date are the Oakland Raiders, Washington Redskins and Tennessee Titans, per league sources,” Schefter reported. “Thus, the battle for Brown could develop into a battle between Grudens, Jon and Jay.”
Steelers' General Manager Kevin Colbert said earlier this week at the combine that the team wouldn't trade Brown without a significant return.
Colbert also said that the team would like to trade Brown to a team that they don't play a lot but they also have to consider what type of compensation a team is offering, and they haven't ruled out anyone.
“Ideally, you want to trade him to someone you’ll never play,” Colbert told reporters from Indianapolis via 24/7. “The less you would play him, the better. But if a team comes to us with the best compensation, you have to weigh that all into the discussion. We haven’t eliminated anybody.”
As much as Colbert says they need to get a good return, it's hard to imagine a scenario where Brown is a starting wide receiver for the Steelers at the start of next season.
