Former Baltimore Ravens star and current television personality Ray Lewis believes the AFC championship next year will be a rematch. This past season, the New England Patriots and the Kansas City Chiefs faced off in a close victory for the Patriots.

Patrick Mahomes still did play very well. He wasn't given a chance to run the offense in overtime. He was able to drive the Chiefs down the field to tie the game and make it go into overtime. There's only so much he can do himself.

Lewis believes that if Tom Brady doesn't retire, there's no reason for the Patriots not to make it all the way the AFC championship once again.

Lewis told CBS:

“Pat Mahomes gives Kansas City in the AFC every chance to be right back there. He’s just that good. If you think about Tom Brady, they’re going to be there. You may be seeing the same AFC Championship again.”

As far as the NFC goes, Lewis believes that the Rams and Saints will probably matchup again as well. Drew Brees vs. Jared Goff could be a matchup that fans see for years to come.

“What happens in the NFC will be interesting. Drew Brees loses twice, I mean heartbreaking loses. And what does he do? Do the Rams come back and make that run again? I think it’s going to be interesting. The Rams in the NFC for sure, then probably the Saints again. I don’t see anyone else making a real move.”

Lewis was a 13-time pro-bowler and a two-time Super Bowl champ. He retired in 2012 with the Baltimore Ravens.
