The NFL made a huge decision that directly impacts six teams in Week 15 as they fight for a spot in the playoffs. The news broke Friday afternoon that the league postponed three of upcoming games: Washington Football Team at Eagles, Seahawks at Rams, and Raiders at Browns.

NFL Insider Adam Schefter tweeted the memorandum that NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell sent to each team explaining the reasoning for these postponements.

“Based on medical advice, we have instituted additional protocols as well as revised testing protocols for reinstating players and staff who have tested positive.” This statement, directly from Goodell's memorandum, is in reference to the new COVID-19 protocols that went into effect on Thursday.

Along with this, the league has “also considered whether certain games should be rescheduled in light of current conditions.” According to Goodell, the decision to cancel or reschedule games will continue to comply with his memorandum from July 22.

Goodell then listed each of the Week 15 games affected, when they were originally scheduled, their new schedule, as well as where they will be televised.

This decision hasn't had many positive reactions. Multiple players took to Twitter, stating that this goes against what the league decided before the season began. Even Las Vegas Raiders owner Mark Davis voiced his opinion on the schedule changes, calling it a “competitive disadvantage to the Raiders.”

Despite negative outbursts from fans and members of the league, Goodell assured the teams that they are doing what they can in order to “minimize the competitive and economic burden” on effected teams.
