Terrell Owens has grabbed headlines recently after he said he won’t attend his own enshrinement into the Hall of Fame. However, his former Buffalo Bills teammate, current Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick, believes despite what T.O. said, he will show up for his own induction ceremony in Canton.

“We had a good rapport and I consider T.O. a great teammate,” Fitzpatrick told Ira Kaufman of JoeBucsFan.com. “When he came to Buffalo, he had been in hot water a little bit. But he still had a lot of juice and I was impressed with the way he worked and grinded every rep at practice. When all is said and done, I think he’ll show up in Canton.”

Owens and Fitzpatrick only spent a season together in Buffalo back in 2009. Even at 36 years of age at the time, T.O. showed he still had it. He had 55 catches for 829 yards and five touchdowns that year, which were actually his lowest marks over the last five years of his career.

Owens has consistently been portrayed as being a bad teammate during most of his career. And while he may have brought a bit of that reputation upon himself with some of his antics, he wasn’t universally loathed as some might suggest.

It remains to be seen whether Fitzpatrick will be proven right with his prediction that T.O. will have a change of heart and attend the ceremony. After all, Owens does come across as a tad headstrong. But if he does, it hopefully turns out to be a relatively uneventful occasion where everyone can just celebrate Owens’ incredible career instead of it being overshadowed by other things.
