They say referees can't cost you a game, and that is true. After all, there are 60 minutes in a football game for you to do whatever you can to win, so unless the officials are making countless bad calls that critically affect your rhythm as a team, you can't blame them if you lose.

But try telling that to the New Orleans Saints on Monday morning. Fox Sports analyst Skip Bayless took to Twitter to rip the officials for the blown no-call:

With less than two minutes remaining in regulation of their NFC Championship Game loss to the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday, the Saints had the ball deep in Rams' territory with the scored tied at 20.

On a third-down play, Drew Brees tried to hit wide receiver TommyLee Lewis with a pass along the right sideline. Confused by whom he was supposed to defend, Rams defensive back Nickell Robey-Coleman got off the line late and rushed over to Lewis as Brees had lofted the ball into the air. Without even looking back at the football, Robey-Coleman leveled long before the ball got to the receiver.

Somehow, some way, it was not called pass interference, stopping the clock and forcing the Saints to settle for a field goal and also leaving more than enough time remaining for the Rams to come back and tie the game with a field goal of their own (which, they did).

It seriously was one of the worst calls (or non-calls) we have ever witnessed.

Los Angeles went on to defeat New Orleans in overtime and advance to the Super Bowl.
